Two people have been charged after a nine-year-old boy died as a result of an accidental shooting on a property near Goulburn in southern NSW.
Emergency services were called to a property in Windellama just after 11am yesterday following reports of a shooting.
Officers were told a 9-year-old boy had been injured after the accidental discharge of a firearm.
He was treated for serious neck injuries by paramedics but died at the scene.
Following the shooting, a 14-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man were arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station.
The 14-year-old was charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm and the 33-year-old man was charged with allowing an unauthorised person to possess a firearm and not keeping a firearm safely.
Both will appear before the courts.
