A mass shooting at Bondi Beach on Sunday evening left 12 people dead and 29 others injured, including two police officers, authorities confirmed. The attack took place during a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach Park, where large crowds had gathered.

Witnesses described scenes of panic as people ran for cover after gunfire erupted. Emergency services rushed to the area, treating and transporting the injured to hospitals across Sydney.

Police said two suspects were involved. One was killed at the scene, while the other was taken into custody in critical condition. Officials have called the attack a terrorist incident targeting the Jewish community.

In the aftermath, police discovered improvised explosive devices near the scene and inside a vehicle connected to the suspects. Bomb disposal teams safely removed the devices as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have asked the public to avoid Bondi Beach while police continue to secure the area and gather evidence. Leaders across Australia have condemned the attack and expressed support for victims and their families.
